This blog was created to spread the vision of our work in Tanzania. After working in Arusha for a few years now I have discovered that to make any real change we must focus on the women of this community. Our nonprofit Shining Light (www.shiningalight.org) has been created to provide jobs to women in extreme poverty so that they can be empowered to care for themselves and their families. Our goal is to keep women working and children educated.

Besides my work with Partners Worldwide and LOHADA, I also get to give my testimony to churches all over Arusha. Last Sunday I was at Christ Church, an Anglican church in town. And even though I am clear across the world God is the same everywhere and His grace and mercy can touch anyone at any time. I am blessed to be able to continue speaking out about how He delivered me from Drugs and how He pulled me out of a life of darkness and brought me into His marvelous light!

Children's Sunday @ Church
A couple weeks ago World Outreach Mission Church (Mama Wambura's husband is the pastor) had Children's Sunday, where the children in LOHADA participated in the service. Our children quoted Bible verses, sang songs and danced for most of the service. The short but effective message was given by Mama Wambura (LOHADA's Director) about how our children are the future and that future depends on us and how much we get involved with their lives. I have been working on our Sponsorship program for the past 5 months and I feel this is the best way to get involved with our children. It's not just about the money but about the relationship. This children need to feel important; they need to feel love and to know how special they are. Our website is updated and running again so please check it out and check out our sponsor section with the stories of these awesome kids. The address is www.lohada.org.
Thank you for your support.
God Bless,
Jennifer
